About

Welcome to patronus-naturae.org, my thoughts and musings on the natural world. The name “patronus naturae” is Latin and means “the protector of nature”. I thought the main picture of Gaia was fitting since she is what the Greeks considered “Mother Nature” and protected and loved plants and animals. This site is here to promote the understanding and protection of nature and animals by teaching people to live in balance with the natural world. Take a look around and I hope you learn something!

About Me: I am currently a grad student working on my Master’s in Biological Anthropology and Evolutionary Studies and I have a B.S. in Zoology with minors in Genetics and Environmental Science. My main interests are animal behavior, especially in primates; evolutionary biology; and human origins. I am interested in studying primate behavior, especially their use of tools, social behavior, and communication in regards to their evolutionary relationship to early hominids. I am also interested in molecular anthropology and genetic implications related to evolution. Also, I love gorillas and Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey are my heroes. :)
